IT was a 15-minute nap on a park bench. And it cost him $200 - equivalent to a comfortable night's stay in a three-star hotel complete with a soft bed and fluffy pillows.

He had dozed off on a Sun Plaza Park bench while taking shelter from the rain.
For doing so, the 62-year-old private bus driver, who wanted to be known only as Mr Kassim, was fined $200 by the National Parks Board (NParks).
The agency said Mr Kassim had misused the park facility by sleeping on the bench ..... -

By penalising them with fines and throwing them in jail.
In the future, all homeless will need to sleep on the floor instead of park benches.

I can't agree more. STOMPers are a nuisance to society, really. They're like the free Singapore scouts who go around poking into the affairs of others. Look at what they got the poor man into?
He was just tired, that's all. No need to ensure the whole world to know. This is what I'd call making a mountain out of a molehill. So next time, when I like the sun in Sentosa and 'doze off' on one of the benches, they're gonna sue me lar? This is just plain stupid.

In the past, I used to cycle to East Coat Park in the early hours of the morning and taking a nap on the bench because it was extremely breezy. I guess that's out of the question now.

Same mah, when i drive Van and speed at 70km/hr, they said i speeding and fined me, when i drove my Dad Merc speeding at 120km/hr, no problem, somemore the TP can wave at me and smile. -
