... this is the outcome from the sheer lack of Human Rights in Singapore...
... this FT Policy is becoming more and more atrocious...!!
f$cked up Agency.. Think one of the small desperate for money recruitment agencies dealing in the so called FT, aka legalised Human Trafficking
I really feel for the Govt. Cause agencies are making money out of the the FT policy and bringing about social ills
this is like 贩人
Huh? No position for ministers, PM, MM, etc? We seriously need replacement for these positions since our local ones too expensive.
if an IT department is 90% foreigners, is this considered a form of bias in employment practise?
I remember people writing to the newspaper forums complaining the pore companies are biased to hiring chinese locals. now, its the other way round in IT sector.
So, is anyone complaining?

it makes my blood boils to see just how prevalent the adoption of FTs in SG.
go to credit sussie and citibank, frigging whole depts are 95% foreigners! i went there for an interview, fully equiped with master, honours, 8 years of oracle experiences and OCP certification and STILL i cant even qualify for a normal job there. and of course, i was interviewed by two ah nehs, and while i walked to the interview room, farking whole IT depts are all indians!!

This has nothing to do with the Open Door FT policy.
It's almost how most Indians operate.
When our company opened a new plant and put an Indian in-charge.. within a few months.. it became Little India.

very happy to read your post above, such a good post. Seriously, the present positions for pm and mm must be made vacant for we can't afford these sickos whose character are questionable to lead the nation. pm underperforms and pay himself super high world class salary. It is normal and reasonable for any company to sack or terminate staff like that.

the tone of the email is wrong and can be construed as bias towards singaporeans. however, if you read the entire mail and see the listing of jobs, other than a handful of jobs there, you would agree that the bulk of the jobs would be shun by singaporeans. WTF, who here (singaporeans i.e.) in the right mind wants to be a shampoo girl or kitchen helpers, if one can help it. this is true given the current pay scale on these jobs.
the problem lies with the government. they need to impose a certain minimum wage for these entry level occupation. when singaporean finds it `worthwhile' to compete for these jobs, then the skills and standard of service goes up because the best person will get the job. now, it is rather the person who is willing to be the `cheapest' who are likely to fill these vacancies. no wonder one get pissed by the level of service received. i go to a restaurant and i get poor treatment because the chinese waitress is disinterested in her job. why? because she is paid `peanuts' and she probably is into her 2nd shift already. she has no motivation to excel. pay a fair wage and you see the instant shift.
i am not saying the FT issue is non-existent. i myself is affected. but we need to look at it in perspective. in this case, i don't think this is a case of pro-FT overkill.
IN NZ the govt set the guide on paying the sales assistants NZ$11 per hour

when you see a lot of ah nehs, or is interviewed by one, you can pretty much 95% cross out that position you are applying for, and focus on your next target.
these indians are the `tightest' of the lot. their camaraderie is astounding. they look after each other, unlike us chinese who backstabs each other so we can be half a step ahead. sigh!

You not ah neh so you no get the job. Simple. BTW, you should consider yourself lucky you did not get the job in citi.

in my last SG job, there are well over 300+ people in this IT company, less than 5 are singaporeans. the so-called software testers, just sat there and press a button to let the program run (online jackpot) and records the odds. bloody hell, these kind of software testers must fly from india to do meh??
they flew afew angmohs in to do "program and project management", drawing well over $20k+/mth with expat package, what kind of apps they are managing? online poker! the company is super kum lan...
but how come they can siam the employment Act thingy ah? i thot there is a ratio one? must have a certain percent of sgrean to FT? i quite blurred by this..
Nothing wrong with these agencies. They are merely riding on what the government is advocating; a smart move in my opinion.
If want to blame, we should still look for the root cause. These are just side effects.
i just want to see this person's face when the boss tells her "hey, you're fired, i've got a cheaper FT to replace u" and she realises how difficult it is to get a bloody job..

This is partially due to what lhl said about he is not making singapore a welfare state. As such, he and PAP can't be bothered to assist to protect the rice bowls of the locals. lhl is bloody inhuman, cold blooded, extremely selfish, arrogant.

LOL, we are having a SM to mentor PM to run the nation and MM mentoring the SM to mentor PM to run the nation,
If the current PM is unable to run the nation by himself, we should replace him with a cheaper FT.

Shocked to hear that!
the citigroup asia pacific boss is indian. still, in IT, you have to admit that they are quite terror in this field. real talent, i must add. i don't know about the 95% claim though because i know all major mncs are committed to diversity, including race hires.
